The hummingbird is often seen in the North West Coast Indian Art.  The design and legend are jealously guarded by those who claim it. Ksan member and artist Robert Sabastion tells us: "Long ago one of the signals for good luck and good weather to come was the sight of the hummingbird. When hunters prepared for Hunt, they sang songs that would ask the Hummingbird to appear to inspire a successful hunt and healthy game."
